Overview

The Events Intern will work along the Employee Experience team in event preparation and coordination. The intern will have the opportunity to assist in planning company’s special events, including the weekly luncheons, reception dinners, holiday events, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparing and coordinating all logistical aspects of company sponsored events.
  • Assists in communications around event management including BEOs, timelines, calendars, reports, diagrams, etc.
  • Requests estimates, reaches out to vendors, and interacts with all departments within the company.
  • Provides support in all employee, candidate and guest travel including lodging and ground transportation when applicable.
  • Assists in establishing and developing relationships with vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (junior or senior) or recent college graduate (6 months upon graduation) in the area of Business, Marketing, Communications or similar degree with an interest in Hospitality Management and Event/Meeting-planning.
  • GPA: above 3.0.

 

Skills required:

  • A GPA above 3.0
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • At least 6 months - 1 year of previous internship or project management experience in special event planning/coordination preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Superior planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with multiple personalities and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to use discretion, judgment, tact and poise regarding confidential and sensitive information privy to the HR department team members
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Requires approximately 10% travel

2023 Internship session:

  • Summer: June 5- Aug. 25

The ultimate goal of our internship program is to provide students with a learning and training experience that will allow them the opportunity to apply the skills learned in the classroom in a professional work environment.  Although, we would like to offer interns the opportunity to join our workforce on a full-time basis, an offer for a full-time position after an internship is not guaranteed.

 

Eligibility requirements for internships:

  • Spring & Fall internships require 16-20 hours of work per week. Summer is 40 hours per week
  • You must be at least 18 years of age, enrolled in an undergraduate program in your Sophomore, Junior or Senior year
  • This is a paid internship and compensation will be based on applicant's qualifications. We currently do not provide housing, relocation, or transportation reimbursement. Remote, hybrid and in-office opportunities are available
  • Interns are not eligible for company benefits
