    Vectorworks, Inc. is looking for a Localization Software Engineer to join our user interface team building Vectorworks Software and to assist with software analysis, file processing, tool development and the localization process for our international client base with a focus on our Spanish and Chinese speaking users.

    In this role, you should expect to:


    • Perform software development and localization engineering tasks for assigned projects.
    • Prepare files for localization, examine localized files, and troubleshoot localization issues.
    • Re-engineer components including re-coding and other technical changes to accommodate localization-related adjustments.
    • Develop and maintain localization tools.
    • Maintain and provide documentation of localization tools and procedures.
    • Provide localization quality assurance for Vectorworks CAD products.
    • Prioritize bugs in relation to development focus and properly communicate the impact of critical issues.
    • Work with software engineering and technical publications to ensure expected linguistic quality and criteria have been met.
    • Assist the team with engineering best practices in production localization.
    • Enable software to be easily maintained and supported after it is localized.

    • Programming experience with C++ language.
    • Knowledge, skills and experience working with different types of source files.
    • Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills.

    • The ability to explain technical issues to non-technical people.


    Extra Credit:

    • Fluency in one or more languages of translation for Vectorworks products (Chinese, Spanish, etc.)
    • Knowledge of CAD software, architecture, construction, lighting design, or site design.
    • Knowledge of globalization, internationalization and localization concepts and trends.
    • Working experience in both Windows and Mac machines.
