    Vectorworks, Inc. is looking for an individual to join our expanding sales and channel operations team who can help define long-term organizational strategic goals, build key channel relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and closes business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

     

    The Business Development Specialist reports to the Director of Channel Operations and is a highly consultative sales professional responsible for growing our customer base through the acquisition of new channel partners.

    Responsibilities

    In this role, you should expect to:

     

    • Develop and execute strategies for increasing Vectorworks’ international sales through the acquisition of new channel partners
    • Achieve sales goal each year through new customer growth within acquired channel partners
    • Acquire a deep understanding of Vectorworks and be able to present our company and product stories to prospective partners
    • Work closely with support, operations and implementation staff to provide new channel partners with a successful onboarding experience
    • Work closely with marketing and product marketing to provide feedback on market needs in order to develop the tools needed to acquire new channel partners and make them successful
    • Use companywide CRM system to track sales opportunities and report weekly on activities and accomplishments
    • Provide accurate sales forecasting
    • Monitor channel, market and competitor activities and provide recommendations to help Vectorworks increase sales
    • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners when appropriate
    • Attend industry functions such as association events and conferences

    • Over 5 years’ experience in direct sales or business development
    • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and create sales
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
    • Thorough knowledge of sales principles, negotiating tactics, and international business etiquette
    • Deep understanding of changing market dynamics
    • Entrepreneurial spirit
