    Vectorworks, Inc. is looking for an individual to join our expanding sales team who can provide long term strategic support to all internal clients, as well as development of sales strategies that maximize business growth along with new customer acquisition.


    The US sales director will lead a group of approximately sixteen team members including four Managers, three outside Regional Account Managers and nine internal sales team members. Because of the skills mix of the team, the director will need a full working knowledge of inside, outside, direct and channel sales requirements to integrate the team skills fully.

    In this role, you should expect to:


    • Be responsible for acquiring, developing and managing team members that will consistently meet or exceed individual and organizational revenue quotas each year.
    • As part of the strategic responsibility, the director will define and implement quarterly plans for each team that are aggressive, yet achievable
    • Actively lead and monitor demand opportunities and activities
    • Develop and execute successful sales strategies and campaigns
    • Lead activities that drive customer awareness and engagement
    • Track sales activities and adjust strategy focus as necessary to sustain forward momentum
    • Prepare and deliver frequent sales reports and forecasts to the executive team
    • Coach and lead sales team on methods to improve sales results as well as how to acquire new revenue streams
    • Conduct weekly forecast meetings with sales team
    • Acquire, develop and train sales team on operational sales processes
    • Provide support and guidance to direct reports by leading or attending client and prospect meetings; engage other company resources as needed
    • Expand training and staff development levels; coordinate and initiate active line management engagement
    • Enhance the organization’s image by proactively fostering activities that create a “best in class” sales culture
    • Maintain a positive work atmosphere in a changing environment
    • Communicate and support core company values and policies
    • Manage resources effectively and in accordance with strategic objectives
    • Identify, coordinate and lead aggressive change management efforts, as required
    • Work closely and coordinate opportunities with other Vectorworks entities
    • Travel up to 30% of the time

    Why do we want you? Because you have:


    • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field along with a MBA (preferred)
    • 10+ years of sales leadership experience, primarily in an enterprise software sales environment
    • Demonstrated success in developing and identifying challenging goals and objectives that can form KPIs for the sales team, regional account managers and managers
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Multi-industry customer experience to meet different customer needs
    • Strong implementation skills
    • An ability to set priorities and recognize issues and solve problems before they become critical
    • A solid understanding of managing metrics
    • The ability to work in a global work environment under both direct and matrix reporting relationships
    • Cross-cultural familiarity, which is a requirement for this position to be truly effective
    • A strong presence that establishes immediate credibility
    • High energy, which is required in this rapidly changing and expanding environment
    • Respect and integrity, which are absolutes that the selected individual must display by actions rather than words
