In this role, you should expect to:


  • Manage a varied mix of projects including developing user interface features for web applications, integrating public-facing applications with back-office and business-critical information systems, customizing content management frameworks, etc.
  • Employ modern methods of development (frameworks, web services, cloud deployment, etc).
  • Partner with members of the graphics team to build and develop functional websites from design compositions.
  • Maintain and update existing content on Vectorworks websites.
  • Work in a collaborative environment where team members are encouraged to learn, innovate, and propose creative solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Develop server-side logic, databases maintenance, server administration and optimization.


Why do we want you? Because you have:


  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Web Developer.
  • A strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Working knowledge of database query languages (SQL or MySQL).
  • Familiarity with internationalization and security safeguarding.
  • Experience with MVC web application frameworks.
  • Experience with open source CMS packages (WordPress, Drupal, etc.)
  • Proficiency in industry standard website development IDEs, applications, and software.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript libraries (jQuery, MooTools, Scriptaculous, etc.)
  • Experience with Web Services (SOAP/REST).
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.


Some extra credit:


  • Experience with the Laravel or Symfony framework.
  • Knowledge of Python and/or Ruby.
  • Experience formatting and preparing video for web consumption.
  • Experience in Apache server configuration and management.
  • Experience with Agile software development.
